Week 15

My original post on proposed rule changes has only been read by a handful of people.  Too bad; because once again there are plays going under penalized in the NFL.

The announcers for the Washington-Buffalo joked about how a penalty on the Washington defense cost them all of three inches when they jumped offsides protecting their goal line.  They wouldn't have found it so funny if a player had been removed for the next snap.

Another play which I found frustrating occurred during the Carolina-New York game.  Well, there were more than one; but, with respect to being under penalized I'm referring to the late hit on Cam Newton as he ran inside the Giants five yard line.  The penalty ended up being about 2 yards because of the half the distance to the goal nonsense.  Again, I'd have much rather seen the penalty enforced with the ball going to the half yard line and a play with only ten players on the field for the defense.
