Why am I writing?

Quite simply parents know that showing their kids a good example goes much farther than just preaching what is important.  As I was reminded at back to school night, let your kids see you reading.  Well, our kids have watched my wife and I read for years and they have become avid readers.  They read way more than I did at their age!  And, yet, my wife and I recognize that writing may be an even more valuable skill.  But when do they ever see us writing?

So I'm going to try and write this year.  Maybe once a week, maybe every other.  Having just tried a rough draft of my first post, I realize I am very rusty.
